“the closest thing to a black hole we’ll ever see”
Our super-black coating is up to hold the world record as the darkest man-made substance. It was originally developed for satellite-borne blackbody calibration systems, but its unique physical and optical properties have resulted in it finding to create the best readable watch dial.
The Grandeur midnight watch face absorbs virtually all incident light, making it suited to addressing a host of light-suppression and light-management problems, such as underwater or under extreme sun. It reflects so little light that it is often described as the closest thing to a black hole we’ll ever see.
Our watch face absorbs 99.9% of light, providing ultra-low reflectance for the best time reading experience ever.
We exclusively use the best available materials, such as Grade 5 titanium is another way of saying Ti 6Al-4V. Grade 5 titanium is alloyed with 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. These components result in stronger titanium, and more resistance to corrosion, scratches, and heat – at no additional cost – DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating which makes the watch case almost absolute scratch resistant.
and for the glass, we used top-notch sapphire-coated Crystal.
